Please join us for a special screening of The Gate: Dawn of the Bahá’í Faith.
This one-hour documentary tells the little known story of the origins of
the Bahá’í religion, the second most widespread religion after Christianity.
Of local interest is the special relationship that the Dublin and Peterborough
communities developed with ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, eldest son and chosen successor of
the prophet-founder of the Bahá’í religion. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá spent three weeks
here in 1912 as a guest at the Dublin Inn, now a historic Bahá’í property.
Screening is at 7pm, October 16th at the Peterborough Community Theatre.
A discussion will follow with special guests Phil and Ruthie Gammons,
caretakers of the Dublin Bahá’í Center and the film’s editor Jan Sutcliffe.
Doors open 6:30p.m. Seating limited, early arrival suggested.
MONIFF members $5, non-members $10.
