alzheimer's - every minute counts
Keene, NH (DATE) – According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 24,000 Granite Staters are living with Alzheimer’s and 67,000 family and friends are providing care for these individuals.
“The state holds the second oldest and fastest aging population in the nation,” shared  Melissa Grenier, Regional Manager of New Hampshire for the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter.

PBS recently released a documentary, Alzheimer’s Every Minute Counts,

which shines a spotlight on the unique challenges facing New Hampshire residents living with Alzheimer’s disease—and on July 17th the Alzheimer’s Association and the Monadnock International Film Festival (MONIFF) will partner together to screen the film for free to the public at Peterborough Community Theatre.

“We are excited to partner with MONIFF and share this documentary with the community to raise awareness of the challenges facing those living with Alzheimer’s in New Hampshire. We also look forward to showcasing the programs and services the Association can offer to families and the ways that we can get people involved in the fight to end this disease,” said Grenier.

Doors open for the screening at 5:30 p.m. at the Peterborough Community Theatre on 6 School Street. The screening begins at 6:00 p.m., and will be followed by a panel discussion. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the upcoming Western New Hampshire Walk to End Alzheimer’s taking place this September in Keene. The screening free and registration is encouraged. To reserve your seat visit: wnhwalkkickoff.eventbrite.com/.
